Horse Show Management Software
I've been an avid equestrian rider for many years. When my riding trainer started putting on her own horse shows, she struggled to manage all of the entries and events using paper and Excel. I witnessed her challenges, so I designed and built a comprehensive solution using Filemaker Pro. It has saved her a lot of time and effort in preparing and running her horse shows.
Welcome
- I was particularly mindful of creating a solution that was extremely easy to use since most of the users had very little technical experience.
Rider Entries
- I assembled the key requirements by discussing goals, needs, and scenarios with my trainer and the office staff. I followed up with iteration reviews to refine the end product.
- I needed to balance capturing and managing a large amount of information with an ultra-simple user interface.
- I learned how to use Filemaker Pro from the ground up in order to build the final outcome.
Order-Of-Go
- Small horse shows still rely heavily on paper. Certain information was optimized for print versions to facilitate specific use cases such as posting order-of-go announcements and providing show judges with accurate class rosters.
